California Fruit Compote

Ingredients
4 cinnamon sticks*
1/2 tsp whole cloves*
3 cups Sunsweet® Pitted Prunes
3 cups peeled and chopped apple/(1/2 to 3/4 inch pieces)
3 lemons, quartered with any visible seeds removed
1 1/2 tsps grated orange zest
6 cups orange juice

Directions
Place the cinnamon sticks and the cloves on a piece of cheesecloth and tie into a sachet. In a large saucepan or small stockpot, combine all of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10 minutes. Continue to cook uncovered to the desired consistency. Let cool. Remove the sachet and the lemons. Serve with pork, beef, or chicken. MAKES ABOUT 6 cups of compote
